Ecol Studio at MIAC: A natural, structured setup designed for quiet engagement

Client Overview

A company of the Lifeanalytics group, Ecol Studio provides testing, training, and consultancy services to industries working toward safer, more sustainable practices. At MIAC 2024, the company aimed to create an open, learning-focused environment—one that reflected both their green thinking and their hands-on scientific approach.

Challenge: With only 20 sqm, the booth had to hold a lot: a reception counter, seating for technical talks, a screen for looping content, and enough wall space to carry the visual message. It needed to feel light and organized—without losing warmth or depth.

Key Features

  1. Mini Lecture Zone: Simple wooden benches created a classroom-style setup for technical speeches and informal sessions.
  2. Dual Backdrops: One wall used a macro leaf print to reinforce the brand’s nature-focused mindset, while the other displayed paper packaging visuals to ground the booth in material reality.
  3. Floating Counter: The asymmetric reception desk faced the aisle, catching foot traffic while leaving space behind for internal movement.
  4. Subtle Messaging: Key phrases like “We trace your future” were printed directly onto the walls—quiet but present.
  5. Natural Materials: Pale wood textures and potted plants added warmth to the clean white layout.
  6. Framed Focus: The slatted wood ceiling over the talk area helped define the space and gave vertical rhythm to a small footprint.

Our Approach

The booth wasn’t about spectacle—it was about structure. We treated the space like a lab classroom: ordered, natural, and open to discussion. Every element had a role, from the way the benches faced the screen to the choice of fonts and wall textures.
The result was a booth that didn’t need to shout to get attention. It simply invited visitors to sit down, learn something, and take the conversation further.
The result was a quiet but effective presence—one that aligned with Ecol Studio’s thoughtful, analytical voice.
